This page offers some resources and ideas for finding jobs in environmental education. Residential outdoor education and California is emphasized, but the information should be useful to people seeking other opportunities. Many environmental education jobs are obtained through word of mouth, so it is well worth attending conferences and environmental fairs to meet employers and peers working in the field. Visiting program sites to meet the staff and familiarize yourself with the environment and curriculum can help a great deal in getting a job, and is a good chance to share ideas.
Job Resources lists several publications and Internet sources which distribute job announcements.
Organizations includes some of the professional and coordinating organizations active in environmental education.
Note: This page replaces the Raincloud Publishing paper and PDF document "Job Resources for Environmental Educators," which is no longer published.
